10 Strangers will consume your wealth, and someone else will enjoy the fruit of your labor.
11 In the end you will groan in anguish when disease consumes your body.
Proverbs 5:10-11 (NLT)

Proverbs 5 focused on sexual relationship outside the institution of marriage. I used 2 terms in the title, “adultery” and “fornication”. Adultery is the situation where either one of the partners is married while fornication is where both are not married. If you compare both sins, adultery is comparatively worse because it can destroy families. However, that does not mean fornication is beneficial in any way.

What causes sexual sin in the first place?

Let us start from the basics. God is the one who designed our body system in the first place. We were designed to be sexual beings. God made us men and women. Sexual relationship is ordained by God and is holy. The idea of sexual relationship is evil and holiness means abstaining from it is nothing more than the perversion of religion. God had never made such statement. In the eyes of God, sexual relationship between a man and a woman is holy. However, it is only to be established within the institution of marriage. In other words God’s will, for sexual relationship can only be inside the institution of marriage.

Sexual relationship outside this institution is sin because it causes harm. Proverbs 5:10-11 tells us that this sin can result in people getting poor and sick. This is why it is sin. God wants us to be rich and healthy, sin causes us to be poor and sick. God wants us to avoid sins because sins will take away our health and wealth. How do sexual sins make us poor and sick?

While there are people who look good enough to attract willing partners for their adultery, most people have to pay for it. The term for this trade is prostitution. Policy on the legality of prostitution differs among the nations. Based on my information the United States officially banned prostitution and made it illegal but I don’t think that makes her clean. Prostitution only moved and thrived underground. Why is that so? Answer: The Law Of Demand And Supply. Where there is a demand, there will be people who want to profit from it by supplying it.

In Singapore, we tolerate it. We allow it to exist within strict boundaries. This does not mean we think it is good. We don’t make it illegal because we know prostitution can never be effectively banned. Why? The demand is always there. Making it illegal will only drives it underground. In doing so, we will have trouble containing it and deal with the diseases that come with it. Furthermore, prostitution is a lesser evil compared to rape. It is a lesser evil for people to visit prostitutes than to rape.

Let us get back to the Bible. Proverbs 5:10 tells us this sin can consume our wealth. Whether it is conducted in a commercial or social environment, sexual sin will always drain our wealth. It makes us poorer. The fruits of our labor will be gone. Others will enjoy them instead of us. So, if the devil has planted some temptations in your mind to commit sexual sins, you should ask yourself, “Am I going to give up my prosperity just for a short moment of fun?” You have to remind yourself that prosperity from God is more fun than the adultery you are tempted to commit. Not only that, the prosperity from God does not give you negative side effect. It will not destroy your family, reputation nor give you disease.

Proverbs 5:11 tells us an even worse result for sexual sins. It can result in disease. In today’s term, we call it sexually transmitted disease. It had been there a long time ago even before the discovery of Aids.

There were religious people who said that sexually transmitted disease is God’s way of punishing people for committing sexual sins. That is a lie from the pit of hell. My God does not infect people with disease to punish them for their sins. According to the Bible, Jesus took away all our sickness and diseases at the Cross. How can God gives us disease when he sent Jesus to take away all our sickness and diseases? How can God use disease to punish us for our sins when he sent Jesus to die at the Cross, to pay for the penalty of all our sins? This is why religious doctrines are disease by themselves and the religious preachers are the carriers. If you want to live a life that is pleasing to God, stay away from religious churches.

The truth is, God does not want us to commit sexual sins because he does not want our families to be broken, our wealth to be drained and our health to be destroyed. He does not want us to be infected by any diseases including the sexually transmitted types. He did not cause it. The culprit who caused people to suffer sickness and disease is Satan not God. Religious people may not want to acknowledge this but the Bible has made it clear that Jesus came for our abundant lives.

10The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
John 10:10 (Amplified)

In conclusion, we do not commit sins like adultery and fornication because we have great and satisfying lives in front of us. We don’t have to succumb to sins because there are beneath us. The moment we accepted Jesus as our Saviour, we were born again in a new species. This is a species of God. We are gods. As gods, our future is a life of abundance, abundant to the full till it overflows. Sin is not worthy of us.

Christmas Time

It is Christmas time, a time when we think about the birth of Jesus, a time when we think about Peace and Goodwill to all Men.  At this time, take a minute to think of all those who are abused by clergy in some form or another.  It is not an easy thing to endure at all but some how these victims still have to survive in this world.
Our friend is a victim of clergy abuse.  She met a clergy and became involved with him.  They were both married when they started their affair. He promised to marry her.
When the clergy's wife found out about his relationship with our friend, the wife brought charges against him and went to his Bishop.  Our friend was asked to come forward and tell the truth but she did not expose this man.
The wife filed divorce papers against this man.  It was then that he asked our friend to marry him. After a year with our friend, this man was out of his church.  While married, and while involved with our friend, he started a relationship with his secretary.  Our friend was divorcing her husband planning to marry this man.  Our friend found out a year later about the secretary. Our friend is destroyed by this completely and has lost all faith in her faith.  This is a clergy who abused our friend and then went on to his secretary.  How many women does this clergy need?
We do not know where she is or how she is so please pray for her at this time!

Rev Dr James McCray Jr:

This is a UMC Clergy.  He went on sabbatical in July 2006 but could not return to his church.  He is married and was involved with a married woman.  July 2007 he was allowed to go back to his church.  When he went back to his church, he was still married, still involved with the married woman and started a relationship with his secretary.  He was allowed to retire when the General Conference found out about this man's abuse of his power and his abuse of women.  Is this fair?  Should this man be allowed to be called a Reverend?  Please do not be fooled by clergy like this?

Rev Dr James McCray Jr:

This is a UMC clergy.  Charges brought against him for being in an emotional relationship with a married woman. He was married at the time and a Senior Pastor of Jones Memorial UMC.  He was cleared of this.  When his name was cleared in July 2007, he was still married, still involved with the married woman, and also started a relationship with his secretary. Do you think this man should still be a Reverend? Three women at the same time while married? Now this man was allowed to retire after the General Conference found this out.  Is that fair?

Denial, Blame, Guilt or Shame?

The great Rev. Dr. James McCray retired prematurely from Jones United Methodist Church.  This is a Pastor of thirty eight years.  He went on sabbatical in July 2006.  His wife divorced him that same year after thirty eight years of marriage.  Rumor has it that he abused his power by having a relationship with a married woman.  Rev McCray was allowed to go back to his church in July 2007.
Rumor has it that he started this relationship with the married woman in 2005.  In 2007, he started a relationship with his secretary.  Members of his parish reported his misconduct to the Bishop.  He was allowed to retire in 2008.
This is another African American Man who had relationships with two women while married to his wife.  This man is a clergy.  Where in the Bible does it say that you can do this and still be a Pastor?
This same man is the Chairman of the Board for MTA.
Now this man thinks people are out to get him and destroy his career.  He thinks he has done nothing inappropriate.
If you ask me, this man has played one too many women and got caught.
He is in denial if he thinks that he should be allowed to be a Pastor and counsel his parish.
He would like to blame all the people who started to protest his misconduct, and his inappropriate behavior.  He blames his wife, his health, the married woman.
He feels no guilt or remorse for destroying that married woman and her life.
He feels no shame for all the pain he caused to his church, the married woman, his wife, his community.
How many men do you know who have relationships with their secretaries? This man is no different.
This is a UMC clergy guilty of abuse of his power.  What kind of man needs that many women in his life?  Sexual misconduct?  You think?  Duh!
Why did the Bishop allow this clergy to retire with his conduct?  If anyone knows, please send us an email.
